So I figured I’d get stuck into a bit of painting again, as I haven’t done any in, well, years. About a decade ago I read a really great book called Calenture by Storm Constantine, and something I really loved in the book is that the desolate world in which it took place was populated by people who lived on these vast flying cities that would slowly roam above the planet surface. I always really adored the visual imagery of this concept so I decided to paint something similar, and this is what I’ve got after a few hours – it’s a combination of a quick model that I put together in Maya and then took into Artrage to paint onto.
